According to the Federal Law on Accident Insurance (UVG) everyone who works at least 8 hours a week for the same employer is automatically insured by this employer against occupational and non-occupational accidents. You can exclude accident cover in the compulsory health insurance and save 7% on your basic insurance premium. For all other persons, the inclusion of accident cover in their health insurance is compulsory.
