First aid courses for companies and training for occupational first aiders
An emergency can happen anywhere, at any time – and that includes in the workplace. In Switzerland alone, there have been more than 270'000 accidents at work annually over the last few years. SWICA offers first aid courses run by paramedics. The aim of the courses is to teach employees how to respond correctly to a serious accident in the workplace and save lives. The first aid courses are eduQua-certified.
- Having staff trained in first aid helps improve outcomes by reducing the time between an emergency arising and medical care being provided.
- The courses enable employees to correctly assess emergency situations, overcome concerns over touching patients and rapidly apply the most important life-saving resuscitation techniques.
Under Article 36 of the Guidelines on Ordinance 3 to the Employment Act, companies in Switzerland are required to have processes and infrastructure in place for dealing with emergencies in the workplace.
Other recommendations regarding trained occupational first aiders apply depending on the size of the company and the level of danger associated with its activities. Companies with ten employees or more must draw up a basic emergency concept. Stricter rules apply for certain industries and where particular hazards are present.
- SWICA works with an expert long-term partner, Sanacare/notfallsicher.ch, whose courses are delivered by certified paramedics (eduQua).
- From advice on emergency concepts to first aid courses (BLS/AED SRC) and occupational first aider training based on IVR-IAS levels, SWICA offers a wide range of advice and courses.
- The BLS/AED course includes a complimentary additional hour of training on topics specific to the industry and/or company in question.
For companies across all industries that want to
- receive first aid training from experts;
- spend as little time as possible organising and coordinating the courses;
- address the topic responsibly.
