Contact lenses and glasses under basic insurance: only for children

Under Swiss law, SWICA basic insurance only covers part of the cost of visual aids for children. 

Good to know: up to the age of 18, basic insurance pays a portion of the cost of glasses and contact lenses (up to 180 francs per year).

Clear benefits: supplementary insurance for glasses and contact lenses

Contributions under SWICA Completa Top and Completa Forte supplementary insurance

  • Under Completa Top, you’ll be reimbursed 90%  of your optician costs every three years – up to a total of 200 francs.
  • With Completa Forte, the contribution may be as high as 900 francs.

 

Smart combinations with SWICA Supplementa and Optima

If you combine your Completa Top or Completa Forte plan with a Supplementa or Optima supplementary insurance plan, you’ll receive a further 90% reimbursement, up to 300 francs (Supplementa) or 600 francs (Optima). Again, you can submit an optician’s bill every three years.
