Cashless transactions for medication

By presenting your SWICA insurance card, you can pick up prescription medications in Swiss pharmacies without cash. Billing is settled directly between the pharmacy and SWICA. SWICA will then invoice you for any co-payment.

Medical emergencies abroad

SWICA is there for you if you experience an emergency abroad. We issue cover notes for hospital treatment around the clock, and will organise rapid, secure transport back to Switzerland. You will be treated by the best doctors, and enjoy comprehensive financial cover.

The back of the card also features the European Health Insurance Card. This enables doctors and hospitals etc. in the EU/EFTA to settle the treatment costs for medical emergencies directly with SWICA. As a result, you do not need to make any direct payments (except for any co-payments).
