SWICA Healthcare Organisation Association

The SWICA Healthcare Organisation Association is one of SWICA’s owners. As the main shareholder in SWICA Holding AG, it upholds customers’ interests and ensures that their needs are at the centre of all that we do. At an annual Assembly of Delegates, 80 delegates representing the Association’s members meet to perform their tasks under the Articles of Association, which include electing the members of the Managing Committee. Election to the Association’s Managing Committee constitutes nomination to the Board of Directors of the SWICA group companies.

SWICA Healthcare Organisation Foundation

The SWICA Healthcare Organisation Foundation, based in St Gallen, is the charitable partner of the SWICA Healthcare Organisation Association and the second-largest shareholder in SWICA Holding AG. The Foundation’s mission is to promote a healthcare system that is fit for the future. To this end, it supports teaching and research projects with an emphasis on integrated care and prevention.

The members of the Board of Trustees are:

The Foundation is currently providing funding to the following projects:

Gold Standard in Prevention:

In the context of the new legal options under Article 56a KVG, careum is developing an evidence-based standard to provide customers with targeted information on effective preventive measures. The findings will be incorporated into tangible, practical implementation concepts.

Outpatient Rehabilitation Programme (ARP):

The ARP is developing and testing a structured, interdisciplinary care model for patients with chronic pain and musculoskeletal disorders. Its partners are the Zentrum für Schmerzmedizin Thurgau and the Praxis für Ambulante Rehabilitation Amriswil.

Heart Failure Patient Monitoring:

This pilot project between santé24 and University Hospital Basel is studying the telemedicine support provided to heart failure patients following their discharge from hospital. This follow-up care is supported by monitoring via the Benecura app and targeted adjustments to medication regimes.
