High level of patient safety

The SWICA Benecura app is a class IIa medical device as defined in the EU Medical Device Regulation. The requirements for classification include a clinical evaluation and evidence that the device delivers the promised medical benefits, meets the specified performance criteria and poses no risks to the user.

Data privacy guaranteed at all times

The app stores the data in encrypted form in a dossier that only the insured person can access. The applicable legal provisions on the protection of particularly sensitive personal data and data security are complied with at all times. SWICA itself does not have access to the data at any time. The insured person decides on a case-by-case basis whether, for example, they wish to allow a santé24 doctor to access the information already provided in the SymptomCheck. This is recommended, as the specialist at santé24 then already has important preliminary information about the insured person’s current state of health, thus saving time in subsequent discussions. The information is subject to medical confidentiality.
